Status & Trends Monitoring
One of the objectives of the Partnership for Coastal Watersheds Steering Committee is to review status and trends monitoring information so the community can keep track of changing conditions in the South Slough and Coastal Frontal area. The maps and data summaries generated by long term status and trends monitoring will help our community understand and estimate future changes in a variety of important watershed conditions such as air and water temperature, stream and estuary nutrients and bacteria blooms, salmon populations, presence of invasive species, etc. Some of these data will be used as the basis for the initial watershed assessment (click here for more about watershed assessment) as well as “State of the Watersheds” reports to be posted on this section of the web site and updated every other year. The State of the Watersheds reports are intended give our community information with which it can continue to evaluate ecological conditions in the South Slough and Coastal Frontal area and determine whether any change to those conditions warrant action by the community.
